British Council Job Positions 2019

The British Council in Sub Saharan Africa has an opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional to support country operations in Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Cameroon. The postholder will be responsible for providing British Council staff based in West Africa Cluster with advice and services on a range of HR issues and support the achievement of operational goals.

About the Role:

To manage HR operations, overall objectives and business priorities in support of all British Council teams based in Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone and in line with regional and corporate policies. The successful postholder will lead on the delivery of a range of agreed HR services to internal customers and contribute to the agreed HR projects in the cluster and the region. S/he will support the embedding of a culture of high performance which reflects British Council values and principles.

Accra, Ghana

 

Some key role requirements include: 

  • University degree or equivalent in Business Administration/Human Resource Management from a recognised institution
  • Recognised Human Resources qualification is desirable
  • Proficiency in English – B2 level
  • French is desirable
  • Five (5) years’ progressive experience and track record in HR management
  • Experience and understanding of best practice in HR processes and systems
  • Understanding of relevant areas of HR (Reward, Recruitment, Learning & Development, Performance management, Employee Relations, Labour Law, EDI and Business Partnering)
