The Anglican University College is affiliated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The first College of the University, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, located at Nkoranza in the Brong-Ahafo Region was inaugurated on 25th October 2013 to pave way for the maiden Anglican University College of Technology admission for the first batch of students.

The Nkoranza Campus

The Nkoranza campus is the first of the Anglican University College’s multi-campus institution, which houses the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Like Angusher colleges of Angus Tech, this College has a number of schools responsible for the running of their separate academic programs. There are three schools in this College, namely;

• School of Agriculture & Bio-Resources Engineering (SABRE)
• School of Food & Health Sciences (SFHS)
• School of Social Sciences (SSS)

Also, B.Sc. Health Information Management and B.Sc. Community Medicine & Health are run by the School of Food and Health Sciences, whilst B.Sc. Development & Management Studies is under the School of Social Sciences.

Programmes on offer at the Nkoranza Campus

The Nkoranza campus is quickly becoming one of the favorite campuses of the Anglican University College mainly because of the type of courses at Anglican university college of technology. Some of these courses are listed below:

BSc. Community Medicine and Health (Physician Assistantship)

The purpose of this programme is to train health personnel to man/supervise community and district health facilities where medical officers are usually not available. It also aims to produce a health worker who will be able to lead a health team to deliver effective, preventive and curative health care at the sub-district level, and also be part of the team of health workers at the district and community.

BSc. Health Information Management

This programme aims to train professionals who are able to develop and securely use various technologies to collect, store, analyze, disseminate and communicate health data with strong emphasis on developing and supporting mobile health applications and other emerging technologies in healthcare. Students are also equipped with the technical and managerial skills to lead their organizations in their transition from paper-based healthcare to e-health.

BSc. Nursing

The BSc. The nursing programme aims at preparing graduates to be responsibly informed nurses through the acquisition and application of knowledge, skills and right professional attitudes. After completing this programme, graduates will be able to assume responsibilities as professional and competent nurses who provide promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.

Diploma in Midwifery

The Diploma in Midwifery programme aims at preparing graduates to be highly skilled midwives, through the acquisition and application of knowledge and right professional attitudes. After completion, graduates will be able to assume responsibilities as professional midwives who provide promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.

BA. Development & Management Studies

This programme is designed to help students develop the knowledge and skills to handle management and organizational issues in a complex global environment. Students could gain employment in both public and private sector organizations. Knowledge and skills in development and management are required for top science and engineering professionals who also make business and management decisions on a daily basis.

BSc. General Agriculture

This programme is to produce students with knowledge as well as practical and entrepreneurial skills that will make them useful citizens contributing their quota to national development efforts in the agriculture sector towards food sufficiency.

Kumasi will soon have the opportunity to benefit from the services of the Anglican University College of Technology, as they will soon be open to the general public. The Kumasi campus is scheduled to be located at the premises of the St. Anne’s Anglican Church at Ashtown, Kumasi by October 2018. The following programmes will be available at the Kumasi Campus:

Anglican university college of technology fees

Anglican university college of technology fees are to be paid by all students before the beginning of the academic registration. Fees are mostly for the whole academic year but students are allowed to make part payment of the school fees during the first academic year and register.The remaining fees must be paid on or before the registration of the second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. Fees are usually changed every year so if you want to know the fees for the this academic year or the next, calling the school will be a good choice.

Admission requirements Angutech University

Here are the admission requirements for different stages of admission;

WASSCE Holders

WASSCE holders will require passes (A1-C6) respectively in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels

Applicants will require a credit in at least five (5) subject at the GCE ‘O’ level (or its equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics, with at least two passes in the relevant subject at the Advanced Level.

Higher National Diploma (HND)

Applicants must have graduated with a good HND certificate (i.e. at least 2nd class division). In addition, the applicant must have acquired a 2-year post –HND qualification working experience. Mentoring instructions’ practice with regard to entry levels for HND applicants may also be applied. Other Diploma qualifications from elsewhere assessed to be equivalent to HND may be considered.

Mature students

Applicants must be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date. In addition applicants must have passes in English Language and Mathematics. Applicants without credit passes in English Language and Mathematics must pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination in English Language, Mathematics and Aptitude Test.

Foreign students

All foreign Students would be referred to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for Determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to tertiary institutions in Ghana.

Serving Officers (BSc. Nursing and Diploma in Midwifery Only)

Certificate holders in HAC/NAC/NAP and Community Health Nurses will be admitted to various levels in the BSc. Nursing and Diploma in Midwifery programmes after successful completion of an Access Course run by the University College.

Also, prospective applicants are to visit the Anglican University College of Technology for more information and assistance on applications and the various admission requirements. Here is an important checklist to consider if you want to apply to the Angutech University;

• You will need to include photocopies of certificates and other relevant documents to your application.
• Mature applicants should attach a copy of their birth certificate.
• Completed applications should be sent (together with a payment order/bankers draft of GH₵ 80.00) via post to the address on the admission form.
• You will need to attach two passport size Photographs to your application.
• Also not that Applicant who makes a false statement on the form shall be refused admission,

and/or if he has already been admitted, shall be withdrawn from the University College.
