University of Ghana UG Legon WASSCE Admission Requirements 2021/2022 | Official UG LEGON WASSCE courses – programmes admission entry requirements for the 2021/2022 academic year has been released.

The management of the University of Ghana (UG) Legon has released the 2019 WASSCE entry requirements for successful admission application into the undergraduate and postgraduate (Degree, Ph.D., Masters, Diploma, Certificate, Sandwich, Diploma, Short Course and Non-Degree) programmes respectively for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Minimum/General Entry Requirements

An applicant for admission to a degree programme in the University of Ghana must have at least credits (A1 – C6 in WASSCE and A – D in SSSCE) in English, Core Mathematics, a Social Science subject, a Science Subject and three relevant elective subjects, with the total aggregate not exceeding 24 for the sciences and 30 for the humanities.

COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

Short-listed applicants into programmes at the College of Health Sciences must pass an entrance examination and/or interview.
School of Medicine & Dentistry

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
• Bachelor of Dental Surgery

Entry Requirements:
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics and a Science subject
           Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry and two from Physics, Biology and Further Mathematics
School of Pharmacy

• Doctor of Pharmacy

Entry Requirements:
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics and a Science subject
          Electives: Credit passes in Three (3) Electives comprising Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Further Mathematics
School of Biological and Allied Health Sciences

• Bachelor of Science in Dietetics
• Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory
• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
• Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy
• Bachelor of Science in Radiography

        Electives: Credit passes in Three (3) Electives comprising Chemistry, Physics and either Biology or Further Mathematics

School of Nursing and Midwifery

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Entry Requirements:
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics and Biology.
           Electives: Credit passes in Three (3) Electives from any of the combinations below:
o Chemistry, Physics & Further Mathematics
o Three General Arts Electives
o Two General Arts Electives plus Food & Nutrition
o Any three of the following Electives: Economics, Food & Nutrition, Chemistry and French.

• Bachelor of Science in Midwifery

Entry Requirements:
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics and Biology
         Electives: Credit passes in Three (3) Electives from any of the combinations below:
o Chemistry, Physics, and Further Mathematics
o General Agriculture, Physics and Chemistry
o Three General Arts Electives

• Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences

           Biological Sciences
Animal Biology and Conservation Science, Biochemistry Cell and Molecular Biology,
Nutrition, Food Science, Plant and Environmental Biology, Marine Science, Fisheries
Science, Psychology, Microbiology.
Entry requirements:
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & a Science subject.
           Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry, and any two subject. At least one of which should be Biology, Further Mathematics or Physics.

School of Agriculture

• Bachelor of Science in Agriculture

Animal Science, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agriculture Economics, Agribusiness, Agriculture Extension, Post-Harvest Technology.
Entry requirements:
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & a Science subject.
           Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry, and any two of Physics, Biology/Agriculture Science, Geography and Further Mathematics.

• Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Sciences

           Family and Consumer Science (Food and Clothing Option)
Entry requirements:
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & a Science subject.
          Electives: Credit passes in Chemistry and any two subjects.
           Family and Consumer Science (Family and Child Studies Option)
Entry requirements:
Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Science subject

          Electives: Credit passes in any three electives from
                    Science
 General Arts (except Languages and Visual Arts)
 Home Economics/Science (Credit pass in Management in Living and any two of

Credit passes in any Three (3) Elective subjects.
Applicants must have the following subjects to qualify to read the under listed courses:
 Economics, Mathematics or Statistics – Further Mathematics
 Computer Science – Further Mathematics
 French – French
 English – English Literature
 Geography – Geography

University of Ghana Business School

• Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

Entry Requirements:
           Core: Credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & a Social Science subject.
           Electives: Credit passes in any Three (3) Elective subjects.

University of Ghana School of Law

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

Entry Requirements:

School of Performing Arts

The programme is open to applicants interested in the Performing Arts with aggregate 24 or better. They will be expected to attend an audition or interview.
