Ashesi University Academic Calendar

This is to inform all fresher & returning students and staffs of the Ashesi University that the management has announced the reopening date/academic calendar for the commencement of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Ashesi University academic calendar serves as an information source and planning document for students, faculty, staff and departments, as well as outside organizations. The calendar includes registration dates, lectures date/schedule, class start dates, add/drop deadlines, examination timetable, exam dates and more.

Ashesi University Academic Calendar 2023/2024.

Ashesi’s academic calendar is divided into two semesters. Students typically take four semester units per semester. A semester unit (typically 42 classroom contact hours and 14 discussion/lab contact hours) is defined as three (3) hours per week of classroom time and 1 or 1.5 hours of discussion/lab time per week over a period of fifteen weeks.

Semester 2, January – May 2019

Campus re-opens January 2nd
Classes begin for first year courses January 7th
Freshmen meet with Heads of Department or Academic Advisor if off track from cohort Week of January 7th
Registrations ends for freshmen January 8th
End of adding and dropping courses for freshmen January 11th
Classes begin for continuing students January 14th 
Continuing students meet with Academic Advisor if off track from cohort Week of January 14th
Registration ends for continuing students January 15th
End of adding and dropping courses for continuing students January 25th
Mid-Semester break for all students March 4th – 8th
Last day for late drop March 22nd
Last day of classes for Senior April 24th
Revision for Seniors April 25th – April 26th
Last day of classes for Juniors and Sophomores April 26th
Revision for Juniors and Sophomores April 29th – April 30th
Final exams for Seniors April 29th – May 3rd
Final exams for Juniors and Sophomores May 2nd – May 15th
Last day of classes for Freshmen May 3rd
Revision for freshmen May 6th – 7th
Capstone presentations for seniors May 6th – 7th
Final exams for freshmen courses May 9th – 15th 
End of Semester Two for all students May 15th
