About National Investment Bank Ghana

National Investment Bank Ghana Limited, commonly referred to as National Investment Bank, normally abbreviated to NIB, is a parastatal private bank in Ghana.

The bank was established by the Government of Ghana in 1963, as a national development bank. Later, the bank was granted a commercial banking license by the Bank of Ghana, the national banking regulator. NIB is a medium-sized financial services provider in Ghana. As of December 2011, the total valuation of the bank’s assets was approximately US$468.5 million (GHS:878.9 million), with shareholders’ equity of approximately US$47 million (GHS:88.1 million).

National Investment Bank Ghana Retail Banking

Current Account (C/A)

This type of account is suitable for day-to-day business transactions. Active operation of the Current Account enables customers’ access credit facilities of the Bank. A Current Account holder could qualify for any lending facility (subject to loan terms and conditions), if he or she operates the account for a minimum period of six (6) months.

Savings Account (SA)

This account is suitable for individuals who are eighteen (18) years and above, societies and organizations who want to save part of their earnings to meet future needs i.e. to purchase fixed assets, to pay school fees etc. This account can also be opened in trust for minors and can be used as security to obtain a loan facility from the Bank.

Churchlink Account

The NIB Churchlink is a product designed for Churches. This is a hybrid of a current and an investment account specifically designed to offer churches high interest, flexibility of a cheque book and a loan facility when required.


  • Tired interest rate-the more you deposit, the more interest you earn. Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly
  • Customers can have cheque book
  • Customers have the option to choose a daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly statement of accounts electronically
  • Free financial consultancy
  • Provision of guarantees in situation where the church would have to undertake projects and made payments at a later date.

National Investment Bank Ghana E-Banking

NIB Cashlink ATM Service

This is an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service, which enables the Bank to provide an uninterrupted 24 hour, 7 days a week Banking Services to its clients at their convenience and in a very serene atmosphere. Services offered include: Cash Withdrawals, Statement Request, PIN Change, Funds Transfer, Balance Enquiry, Cheque Book Request, Bill Payment and Transfer to own or other accounts.

E-Zwich Service

The Bank of Ghana has introduced the national E-Zwich Card to facilitate easy payments and banking for all Ghanaians throughout all banks, rural banks and savings and Loans Companies. NIB registers customers and the general public for the E-Zwich Cards and Merchant Point of Sale Terminals.



GH-Link is an electronic platform set up by GHIPPS that interconnects all ATMs in the country, bearer of the GH-Link card can withdraw money from any ATM, irrespective of the bank they save with. GH-Link connects twenty-five (25) Banks including three (3) savings and loans companies, implying that customers of any of these banks can use the ATMs of the member-banks. The GH-Link connects about thousand ATMs, making it the biggest and the most convenient platform compared to Visa and MasterCard in Ghana.

SMS Alerts

SMS Alerts allow you to stay updated on your banking transactions. Customers can register for Mobile Alerts service to receive SMS alerts for banking transactions, as well as mini statement.
Customers are given access to view statements of accounts as well as current balances. This service attracts a monthly charge. Contact the nearest branch to sign up for this service.

Online Banking allows you to enjoy banking services using the internet. You have the convenience of Internet Banking at your own terms, wherever and whenever.
